Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
This Moorooduc vineyard is planted soley to red varieties, or at least it was! However, they now also produce a Pinot Grigio, a Sauvignon Blanc, and a Chardonnay.
Initially, the believed that because they have one of the warmest areas on the Mornington Peninsula, that ripening would be an easy propostion, yet they have exceeded their own dreams in producing a most spectacular Pinot Grigio, as well as a quite delightful Sauvignon Blanc.
We were originally attracted to the Peninsula Panorama Pinot Noir, because of its great value in the low $20 range, but have been persuaded to also now range the white wines, which represent a good introduction to the Peninsula.
At this stage we are still considering the Pinot Noir not because of anything but the plethora of wines that we have from that area, but that we just need some more space............................................
