Dover, Tasmania
A small vineyard that may just be the most southern vineyard in Australia producing a Preservative Free Pinot Noir and a minimal additive Chardonnay.
These wines are from a vineyard that can freeze in winter so it is safe to say that this is a cool climate area.................
Production is very limited as can be imagined but the Molnar Family ( who migrated here from Hungary ) are to be congratulated on this quite unique venture where a little bit of their homeland has been transferred to a place that surely is one of the most remote areas.
The Pinot is very earthy and natural with little or minimal filtration allowing " all " of the vineyard to be in the bottle and as this is a real Family operation Guests will be able to not only sample some most intriguing wines but also a quite superb photo' gallery being yet another part of the Family operation.
There is a rumour too that Paul is to make a schnapps shortly now that he has the necessary permits and consents and that might be worth a trip there !
