Ned's Vineyard

Pyrenees, Victoria

Ned's Vineyard is so called as many years ago a person actually called Ned was associated with the area so the locals would just say " I am going to Ned's " whenever they were visiting the area !

The property was purchased by Mick Hobson in 1994 and he started planting shiraz vines in 1996 initially selling the resultant fruit to Seppelts Great Western and then to Mt Langhi Ghiran but now all the product is made by Mt Langhi Ghiran under the wonderfully titled " Ned's Vineyard " ; the label shows a smiling Mick in his ubiquitous hat !

This is a truly wonderful representational wine of the white quartz and red clay of the Pyrenees with terrific fruit and this may be a winery to watch closely as its' product is quite amazing ; only 250 cases made annually.
