Barossa Valley, South Australia
This small, very specialised endeavour is a joint venture between the Marschall and Groom families in Tanunda. They have just over twenty nine hectares with a great story: David Marschall was a winemaker with Penfolds before the family to California and after a lot of discussion between the families the now joint venture purchased property adjacent to Penfolds Kalimina vineyard (how surprising!) and produced their first vintage in 1999. Later, they purchased property at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hill specifically to produce Sauvignon Blanc.
They now produce Barossa Valley Shiraz and Zinfandel, and perhaps one of Australia's very best Sauvignon Blancs. We have been fortunate to take into stock the 2007 Shiraz, 2009 Zinfandel, and a 2009 Sauvignon Blanc. This vineyard was recommended by a Wine Club member (see how much attention we pay to our members!) and has been a revelation.
Do come and buy the SB in particular.
