Clare Valley, South Australia
ArtWine, which is a new winery (and amazing B&B) in the Clare Valley who we have only recently met; we have been amazed at the wines that are presently being made by O'Leary Walker and here we have some of the best from this renowned region and a truly unique product in the Tres Amigos.
They make both a Pinot Gris and a Pinot Grigio and for those interested, it is well-worth comparing the two at the same time! They also make a quite delightful dry Riesling and a 2004 Grenache that we will be buying heaps of - the wine is outstanding and yet we are not Grenache fans as we often find them too sweet but this one is a beauty! We believe that the age has allowed it to fully integrate, playing down any sweetness, whilst retaining that "jammy" characteristic in the fruit which is common in a great Grenache.
The wines are very affordable and the number of varieties means that there is something for everyone!
